We’re so glad your family has joined us on this adventure! Whether you're brand new to Scouting or returning for another year, we want to thank you for becoming part of our Pack family.
Cub Scouting is more than just hiking, camping, and Pinewood Derby cars—it's about building confidence, learning life skills, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Through hands-on activities and guided leadership, your child will grow in character, citizenship, and teamwork—all while having a lot of fun.
Our program is built on family involvement and community spirit. You’ll quickly see that Cub Scouting is something your whole family can enjoy together. From den meetings to weekend adventures, there are countless ways to get involved and share in your Scout’s journey.
We’re here to help you every step of the way. Take a look at the resources below to get started, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Welcome aboard—we’re excited to have you!
Yours in Scouting,
The Pack 88 Leadership Team
The cost to join is $157, which covers your Scout's membership in Scouting America for one full year from the date of payment. These dues are split between Scouting America and our local Pennsylvania Dutch Council to support the Cub Scout program. We benefit immensely from the support of our local and national counterparts who provide access to ScoutBook, Liability Insurance, Council-Owned Facilities, Program Support and more. If cost is a concern, please contact us to discuss your situation.
Pack 88 does not charge unit dues at this time, and is able to support operations through fundraising throughout the year. Your participation in our fundraising efforts is vital and appreciated!
Optionally, you can sign your Scout up for Scout Life Magazine for $15. He or she will receive the magazine once per month, filled with interesting stories and activitites that are Scout related.
Uniforms are optional, but strongly encouraged, and can be purchased at our local Council Scout Shop located at 630 Janet Ave, Suite B-114, Lancaster, PA 17601. Park in in Lot #4 off of Marshall Ave, and enter through Door G. Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 10:30AM - 4:30PM.
At minimum, plan to purchase a Cub Scout belt and handbook for your Scout's den level. This should cost about $40.
If possible, it is great to consider purchasing as much of the official Cub Scout uniform as you can. Good additions are:
Cub Scout Uniform Shirt
Unit Numerals (88)
Council Strip
World Crest Emblem
It is best if you can take your Scout to the shop with you to gauge sizing. Remember to buy big so that your Scout can wear their uniform for several years as they grow.
If you are unable to make it to the local Scout Shop, you also have the option to purchase online through the national Scout Shop online.
Lion (Kindergarten) Uniform Guide
Tiger (1st Grade) - Bear (3rd Grade) Uniform Guide
Webelos (4th Grade) Uniform Guide
Arrow of Light (5th Grade) Uniform Guide
Our entire Pack meets together every Tuesday night during the school year. Most meetings are held at Millersville VFW Post 7294, our chartering organization. When the weather is nice we often meet outdoors in the VFW's pavillion, otherwise we are in the Social Hall. We will sometimes schedule a special adventure in lieu of a meeting, so be sure to check the calendar and email reminders!
